Welcome to the Forum! Ok, for a solution to your inquiry I would go for the RetroArch version of PicoDrive as it has the best performance/compatibility for MegaDrive/Genesis emulation and will also play Sega/MegaCD Titles, it will also run the DSP powered Virtua Racing and 32X (although unfortunately with a low frame rate due to the computational power of the RPi). If I've not been clear, or you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I don't know how feasible that is though I guess that's where you clever folk come in!Ĭan someone help me out, and explain what I need to do step-by-step, in a language I'll understand? Or, alternatively, provide me with a program that'll do what I'm trying to achieve (and well)?
If possible, it'd be really helpful to have a link to a pre-written program that'll do everything for me - all I have to do is install it on the SD card and transfer the ROMs.
All this talk of disk images, start up commands etc. This makes knowing what to do a bit challenging. However, I've done a lot of reading into this, and different sites seem to be saying different things. Why? Because it'll be more portable than the laptop, I can play 2-player games unlike the PSP, and the graphics and sound will be delivered over HDMI for good picture and audio. Ultimately, I would like to build a Raspberry Pi for the sole purpose of playing Genesis ROMs via PicoDrive. I also have KEGA Fusion on my laptop to perform the same function. I'm a Sega Genesis die hard, and I have PicoDrive running on a PlayStation Portable to play Genesis ROMs. Before I begin, this is my first post on the forum, and I am most definitely a Raspberry Pi 'noob' - I've no knowledge of what I'm doing, and I'm looking to get some help/advice for a project that is clear and written in such a way that I'll understand it.
